Philosophies
1. How you do anything is how you do everything.
Character isn't situational. Bring full presence, humility, and care to every interaction.
2. Taste is your last defensible edge.
Data, knowledge, and execution are commoditized. Pattern recognition, sensitivity to nuance, and an eye for what's right, that's the differentiator.
3. Simplicity is a competitive advantage.
Work small, think big. Strip to the essential. The complicated is common; the awesomely simple is rare.
4. Iteration is the method. The work reveals itself.
Measure, cut, measure again. 1% better every day. Quality emerges from selection, not perfection.
5. White space is where the real work happens.
Ideas don't come from meetings or dashboards. They emerge in reflection and mental slack. Protect it like a resource.
6. The urgent destroys the important.
Guard your attention. Ruthlessly. Most "fires" aren't.
7. Authenticity compounds.
Make decisions you'd stand behind with no audience. The personal leads to the universal. Genuineness builds asymmetric trust.
8. Seek disagreement from smart people.
Embed humility in all interactions. Listen more than you talk. You're not the smartest person in the room — and if you are, change rooms.
9. Build systems that let ideas emerge.
Promote aligned autonomy. Beginner's mind over expertise. Preconceptions limit possibilities. Create conditions for insight and do not force it.
10. Failure is tuition. Enthusiasm is rocket fuel.
It's only a failure if you didn't learn anything. And being enthusiastic is worth ~25 IQ points — energy is contagious and underrated.

This site is a hand-written static website — just index.html plus two CSS files (colors_and_type.css for the design tokens and typography, and mobile.css for the responsive layout), with no build step, bundler, or JavaScript framework in the way.
Source lives in a GitHub repo (shirazik/khs-website) and is deployed via GitHub Pages, which serves the files straight from the main branch; a CNAME file in the repo points the deployment at the custom domain kareemshirazi.com, so every push to main is effectively a production release.
